GOP Gerrymandering Pushed Wasserman Schultz Into Historically Black District, Drawing CBC Objections

GOP-drawn maps fractured Debbie Wasserman Schultz's former seat into five shards, pushing the 11-term congresswoman and ex-DNC chair into Florida's 20th District — a majority-minority seat represented by Black Democrats for over 30 years. She is the sole white candidate and does not live there. Congressional Black Caucus chair Yvette Clarke and other African American leaders have publicly criticized the move. The primary is August 18.
