Farage wins first parliamentary seat in Clacton by-election

Nigel Farage won the Clacton by-election on 13 August 2026 with 21,225 votes (46.2%), the BBC confirmed. A by-election fills a single Commons seat between general elections. The result gives Farage his first parliamentary seat after past attempts under UKIP and the Brexit Party. Conservative Giles Watling finished second on 12,820. Farage's majority was about 8,000.
