Farage elected to Parliament for the first time after winning Clacton by-election

Nigel Farage won the Clacton by-election on 13 August 2026 with 21,225 votes (46.2%), the BBC confirmed. The result gives Farage his first parliamentary seat after unsuccessful attempts as leader of both UKIP and the Brexit Party. Conservative candidate Giles Watling finished second with 12,820 votes. Farage's majority was approximately 8,000.
