Microsoft Removes Copilot's Mico Avatar Within a Year of Launch

Microsoft is removing the Mico animated avatar from Copilot's voice mode less than ten months after its October 2025 launch. The voice pipeline stays; only the visual layer is cut. Mico joins Clippy and Cortana in Microsoft's graveyard of anthropomorphic helpers. Microsoft says it is relocating Mico to its Learn Live tutoring platform.
