Matic Cues Adds Voice and Gesture Control to Robot Vacuums

Matic launched Matic Cues on August 13, 2024, a software update bringing voice and gesture control to all existing robot vacuums. Five cameras handle gesture recognition entirely on-device. Voice uses a hybrid approach: a local wake word triggers anonymous command processing through Google's Gemini API for natural-language understanding.
