Ford Names Next EV Truck "Fathom," First on Universal EV Platform

Ford has named its next electric pickup the Fathom, the first vehicle on its Universal Electric Vehicle Platform. Workers are hand-building prototypes in Louisville and Dearborn. Production-qualified prototypes begin in Q1 2027, with pre-orders opening early that year. Louisville Assembly Plant is being retooled for EV-only production under a $2 billion investment.
