
Largest Electric Aircraft Ever Flown Completes First Flight
Heart Aerospace's X1 demonstrator, the largest electric aircraft ever to fly, completed a 27-minute first flight at 1,100 feet on August 12, 2026, at Plattsburgh International Airport in New York. The full-scale prototype for the planned 30-seat ES-30 flew on battery power alone. The FAA issued a Special Airworthiness Certificate on July 23, 2026, clearing the way for the test campaign.
