Largest Electric Aircraft Ever Flown Completes First Flight
Heart Aerospace's X1 demonstrator, the largest electric aircraft ever to fly, completed its first flight on August 12, 2026, at Plattsburgh International Airport in New York. The full-scale prototype for the planned 30-seat ES-30 stayed airborne 27 minutes at 1,100 feet on battery power alone. The FAA issued a Special Airworthiness Certificate on July 23, 2026, clearing the way for the test campaign.
