
Biggest Electric Airplane Ever Flown Completes First Flight
The largest electric airplane ever flown, Heart Aerospace's X1, completed its first flight on August 12, 2026, at Plattsburgh International Airport in New York. The prototype for a planned 30-seat airliner stayed airborne 27 minutes at 1,100 feet powered only by batteries. The FAA granted flight approval on July 23, 2026, allowing testing to begin.
