iFixit Scores Galaxy Z Fold 8 at 4/10 After Hinge Fails Basic Cycling Test

iFixit gave Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 a provisional 4 out of 10 for repairability. The hinge crunched and ground during open-close cycling and stopped opening normally. Its IP48 rating leaves the hinge exposed to dust and sand below 1 millimeter. Samsung has historically combined the hinge and inner display into one assembly, making replacement a near-full disassembly.
