Ofwat greenlights £3.4bn extra water spending, bills set to rise

Ofwat, England and Wales's water regulator, approved £3.4 billion in extra water-company spending, lifting the total to £107.4 billion — close to the £108 billion firms originally sought. Thirteen companies had requested £4.3 billion for unforeseen costs. Five may raise household bills above prior plans before 2030.
