Police Minister blocks release of Naidoo briefing details

Police Minister Mark Mitchell has refused to release details of a sensitive briefing attended by Superintendent Rakesh Naidoo. Mitchell used an Official Information Act provision covering prejudice to law enforcement and fair trials. He says he had "pre-existing concerns" before Naidoo disclosed he was considering standing for Labour. An internal police review is under way.
