Fermi Inc. signed AI compute provider TensorWave as the first binding lease customer for Project Matador, its nuclear-powered AI data center campus in Amarillo, Texas, announced August 10, 2026. Shares rose nearly 23 percent after the deal and the August 11 appointment of Lee McIntire — former CEO of Bill Gates' TerraPower — as chief executive.
