
Fermi Lands First Customer for Nuclear-Powered AI Facility; Stock Jumps 23%
Fermi Inc. signed TensorWave, an AI computing company, as the first committed customer for its nuclear-powered AI facility in Amarillo, Texas, announced August 10, 2026. The plant uses nuclear energy to power computers that run artificial intelligence software. Fermi's stock rose nearly 23 percent after the deal and the August 11 appointment of Lee McIntire — former CEO of Bill Gates' TerraPower — as chief executive.
