Trump's Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Steps Down

President Trump said August 12, 2026, that Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is leaving her post after about 19 months. Leavitt, 27 when appointed in November 2024, was the youngest person ever to hold the role. She will stay on as an outside adviser. No successor has been named.
