President Trump said August 12, 2026, that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is leaving her job after about 19 months. The press secretary is the person who speaks for the president to reporters. Leavitt, 27 when picked in November 2024, was the youngest ever in the role. She will keep advising the president from outside the White House. No replacement is named yet.
