EBU Adds Conflict Clause to Eurovision Hosting Rules for 2027

The European Broadcasting Union now bars broadcasters from hosting Eurovision if their country is in an armed conflict or sensitive geopolitical crisis. An independent security body will assess borderline cases; ineligible winners lose hosting rights to an alternate broadcaster. Effective for 2027 in Bulgaria, the rules formalize the ad hoc 2023 move from Ukraine to Liverpool.
