Wihongi rejects Peters' claim she failed to declare conviction

New Zealand citizen Everlee Wihongi says she was never given declaration forms to complete, contradicting Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters. Peters said she was detained by ICE — US immigration enforcement — for failing to declare a cannabis conviction. Wihongi was held for 73 days. The 2016 conviction was later quashed by the courts.
