ICE detainee Wihongi rejects Peters' claim she failed to declare conviction

New Zealand citizen Everlee Wihongi has directly contradicted Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters, who said she was detained by ICE for failing to declare her historic cannabis conviction. Wihongi told RNZ she was never given declaration forms to complete. She was held for 73 days in US immigration custody over a 2016 cannabis conviction later quashed by the courts.
