Government agencies still working in isolation on IT, digital chief tells ministers

The government's top digital official has told ministers agencies are still running separate, overlapping IT projects with little wider benefit, a Treasury report shows. The official told agency chief executives last year to share resources and standards under a Cabinet-backed reform plan. The December 2025 report found no evidence anything changed.
