Certified solar eclipse glasses have sold out across UK retailers ahead of the 12 August partial eclipse. The Independent reports counterfeit pairs carrying fake ISO 12312-2 safety marks online. The UKHSA flagged unverified sellers in July. Without proper filtration — lenses that block harmful solar radiation — direct viewing can cause permanent eye damage.
