Fake eclipse glasses flood UK market as certified stock sells out before 12 August event

UK retailers have sold out of certified solar eclipse glasses ahead of the 12 August partial eclipse. The Independent reports counterfeit glasses with fake ISO 12312-2 safety marks circulating online. The UKHSA warned in July about glasses sold by unverified sellers. Looking directly at the Sun without proper filtration can cause permanent eye damage.
