Kyoto Fusioneering Raises $121M, Targets First Breeding Blanket Demo at Oak Ridge

Kyoto Fusioneering raised $121 million and is moving its U.S. headquarters to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to build Unity-3 with Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The facility will test a breeding blanket — a component that captures reactor heat while producing tritium fuel — which no commercial fusion plant can operate without. DOE and Tennessee supplied grants.
