Anthropic to Watermark All Claude Output Under EU AI Act

Anthropic will watermark all text and files from its Claude models to comply with the EU AI Act's Transparency Code, effective August 2, 2026. The rule requires machine-readable markers on AI-generated content. New models ship with watermarking; older models are being updated. Files use the C2PA standard; text watermarks are embedded at the model level and survive copy-paste. Google, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI have also signed on.
