Lucas Museum CEO publicly addresses staff departures ahead of scheduled September opening

Jim Gianopulos, CEO of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, issued a public statement on 3 September addressing a wave of staff departures, ARTnews reported. The museum, backed by filmmaker George Lucas, is scheduled to open this month. Chief curator Pilar Tompkins Rivas left in December 2025; no replacement is planned, with Lucas overseeing curatorial content himself.
