Google Rebuilds Its Health Platform, Fitbit Users Must Migrate
Google has overhauled its health platform with a new system replacing Fitbit's legacy setup, finishing integration of its $2.1 billion Fitbit purchase. The redesigned platform centralizes health data from wearables, smartwatches, apps, and medical records on Google's infrastructure. All users must switch to Google Accounts by May 19th; legacy Fitbit logins no longer work. Developers should hold off on new integrations until late May 2026.
