Fleet Vehicles Now Help Cities Spot and Fix Potholes

Samsara, a company that tracks commercial trucks, has built a system that detects potholes by measuring the bumps trucks experience on roads. The technology covers nearly all major U.S. roads without requiring new equipment. Chicago is already using it. Since potholes cost cities over $750 million yearly in repairs, the system helps them fix roads before they worsen, rather than waiting for residents to report damage.
