Dubai Port Company to Build New Ports Away From a Key Oil Shipping Route

DP World, a Dubai-based port company, plans two new cargo ports on the UAE's Indian Ocean coast. Ships could load and unload goods there without passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway carrying about a fifth of the world's oil. Timeline and cost were not disclosed.
