DP World to Build Two UAE Container Terminals Outside Strait of Hormuz
DP World, the Dubai-based port operator, has reached a deal to develop two deepwater container terminals in the UAE positioned outside the Strait of Hormuz. The planned facilities would let shippers load and discharge cargo on the Indian Ocean side without entering the narrow passage through which roughly a fifth of global oil consumption transits. Construction timelines and investment figures were not disclosed.
