DP World Plans UAE Ports Beyond the Strait of Hormuz

DP World, Dubai's state-backed port operator, will build two deepwater container terminals on the UAE's Indian Ocean coast, letting ships load and unload cargo without entering the Strait of Hormuz — the narrow chokepoint through which about a fifth of global oil supply transits. Construction timelines and investment figures were not disclosed.
