U.S. AI Company Says Chinese Rival Models Are Not a Security Threat

Arcee, a U.S. company making open-source AI to compete with Chinese models, says those rivals are not unusually dangerous. CTO Lucas Atkins told TechCrunch on July 22, 2026 that downloadable AI models are no riskier than other free software.
