Filmmaker Neill Blomkamp Releases a Short Film Made Entirely by AI

Director Neill Blomkamp released "Nightborne," a 13-minute sci-fi horror short film. Every shot was created by an AI tool — ByteDance's Seedance 2.0 — which generates video from written descriptions. The story is loosely based on Peter Watts' novel "Echopraxia." It is the first release from Barley Studios, Blomkamp's new AI filmmaking company. He says he plans to make a full feature film this way.
