Treaty of Waitangi cut from school curriculum rewrite, then put back — twice

Official documents obtained by RNZ show the Treaty of Waitangi was taken out of the new school curriculum and then put back at least twice in 2024. Education Minister Erica Stanford signed a version keeping the Treaty in April, then signed one removing it later that month. Cabinet put it back in June. The ministry later withdrew its explanation for why it was removed.
