Retired judge calls proposed move-on powers 'callous'

A retired judge who ran an Auckland court for homeless people for 15 years has told Parliament the proposed move-on orders are "careless and callous" and break human rights law. The new law would let police tell people as young as 14 who are begging or sleeping rough to leave an area. Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith says it fills a gap in the law.
