Airbus plans folding wings for its popular A321neo jet

Airbus will test folding wings on its A321neo jet in late 2027. The wings will extend four to five metres, then fold up at the tips to fit airport gates. Boeing tried this on its larger 777X, but never on smaller jets like the A321neo, which airlines fly far more often.
