About 2,700 government workers to strike over pay

About 2,700 staff at a major government department will stop work for one hour on a Wednesday morning. Their union, the Public Service Association, calls the employer's pay offer a "zero pay offer." The deal would also make it take longer for staff to reach higher pay levels. Immigration officers earning about $70,000 are the largest group affected. The department has been approached for comment.
