US Aid Cuts Ended Global HIV Drug Program, Report Finds

A research group called the Center for Global Development reports that US aid cuts completely shut down a major program that provided HIV medicine to millions worldwide. A February 2026 report confirmed the damage. An earlier October 2025 analysis estimated nearly one in four patients who relied on the program may now lack access to treatment.
