Auckland Council approves plan for taller housing near trains and town centres

Auckland Council voted 17–5 to approve a housing plan for more than 1.4 million homes. Buildings near train lines and town centres can be six storeys; most train stations within 10km of the city centre can reach 10–15 storeys — taller than the government required. More public feedback is needed before the plan becomes final.
