Government scraps agreements between councils and iwi, Labour says Treaty deals at risk

The government has scrapped legal agreements that let councils and iwi work together on resource management, as required by Treaty of Waitangi settlements. Only eight were in use. Labour's Rachel Brooking says councils will now have to renegotiate those obligations. ACT leader David Seymour called scrapping the agreements "absolutely necessary."
