Why a Common Vaginal Infection Keeps Coming Back
Australian scientists studying 188 couples found a common vaginal infection returns two ways: germs survive treatment like weeds after spraying, or healthy balance returns then infection comes back. About two-thirds regained healthy germs after treatment; the rest were nearly three times more likely to fall ill again within four weeks, researchers reported in The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Women's Health.
