Judge Throws Out Chegg, Penske Antitrust Claims Over Google AI Summaries

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta in Washington dismissed antitrust lawsuits by Chegg and Penske Media against Google. The publishers said Google forced them to supply content for AI Overviews, the search summaries, which then cut their traffic. Mehta ruled they had not properly shown violations of the Sherman Act, the core U.S. competition law.
