Two Ways Bacterial Vaginosis Returns After Treatment
Australian researchers found recurrent bacterial vaginosis, an imbalance in vaginal bacteria, returns by two routes in 188 couples studied: bacteria surviving antibiotics, and new infection after successful clearance. About two-thirds reached a healthy bacterial balance after treatment; the other third faced nearly triple the relapse risk within four weeks, researchers reported in The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Women's Health.
