Australian Study Identifies Two Drivers of Recurrent Bacterial Vaginosis
Australian scientists identified persistence through antibiotics and reinfection after clearance as two distinct pathways driving recurrent bacterial vaginosis in 188 couples. About two-thirds cleared to optimal microbiome after treatment; the remaining third were nearly three times likelier to relapse within four weeks. Findings appeared in The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Women's Health.
