Market monitor says data centers cost PJM customers $29 billion

PJM’s independent market monitor estimates data centers have cost its 67 million customers about $29 billion over the past two years. PJM runs the power grid and wholesale electricity market in 13 states and Washington, D.C., including Northern Virginia, which has the world’s largest cluster of data centers.
