Newsom vetoes California smart glasses recording ban

California Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed Senate Bill 1130, the Wearable Device Privacy Protection Act, which would have made California the first state to restrict secret recording with smart glasses — glasses with built-in cameras and microphones. Newsom said the bill defined devices too broadly and duplicated existing state privacy law.
