Tauranga council's top staff member resigns

Marty Grenfell, the top staff member who runs Tauranga City Council day to day, has resigned, Mayor Mahé Drysdale said. His last day is Friday. The council will pick a temporary stand-in while it hires a permanent replacement. Drysdale thanked Grenfell for eight years of public service in Tauranga.
