Ethiopian Army Captures Alamata, Nears Mekelle

Ethiopian troops and allied Tigray Peace Force say they captured Alamata Sept. 29. Reuters verified video of Ethiopian-flagged soldiers in the town, 120km south of Mekelle. Alamata is a supply hub — for fuel, food and troops — near the Amhara border. A military source told Al Jazeera the forces are advancing to surround Mekelle.
