Powell says Labour will keep pension triple lock

The BBC reported on 29 September 2026 that Labour deputy leader Lucy Powell said the party is committed to the pension triple lock. The triple lock means the state pension rises each year with earnings, inflation or 2.5%, whichever is highest. The BBC reported Powell was elected deputy leader in November 2025.
