Unite accuses Burnham over triple lock plan

Unite leader Sharon Graham said Prime Minister Andy Burnham plans to drop the pensions triple lock, the guarantee that raises the state pension yearly, to fund social care. She said removing security from people on about £12,500 a year was "morally wrong". Labour deputy leader Lucy Powell said the party remains committed to the lock, as in its 2024 manifesto.
