UK Invests £15 Million to Develop Brain Implants for Depression and Epilepsy

Britain's Advanced Research and Invention Agency is funding 18 projects to build tiny devices that can treat depression, epilepsy, and chronic pain by communicating directly with the brain. The three-year programme distributes money among universities including UCL and Cambridge. This is the UK's biggest coordinated investment in brain technology in two decades.
